Korean translation service

We translate over 80 language combinations, including Korean to English and English to Korean. In fact, English to Korean translations are among our top 14 requested language services. Our Korean translation service is engaged by Government agencies, businesses and individuals across Australia and worldwide.

The Korean language has over 78 million speakers. Korean is the official language of North and South Korea. Korean speaking communities can also be found in the USA, China, Canada, Brazil and Australia. Korean has several dialects. The standard language of South Korea is based on the dialect of the area around Seoul, and the standard for North Korea is based on the dialect spoken around P'yongyang. These dialects are similar, and are in fact mutually intelligible. Korean was formerly written using Hanja, a collection of characters borrowed from the Chinese. In the 15th century, a national writing system was developed called Hangul. Most modern Korean literature and informal writing is written entirely in Hangul; however, academic papers and official documents tend to be written in a mixture of Hangul and Hanja.

We have at your disposal a team of highly qualified, experienced and specialised Korean translators. We offer a comprehensive Korean translation service covering a variety of specialist fields, including scientific, technical, legal, commercial and promotional. We also offer typesetting and printing services for brochures, Power Point Presentations and other professionally produced materials.

Our Korean translators are located both in Australia and overseas. We assign projects to Korean translators according to key factors such as accreditation, area of expertise and the translator’s country of residence, which is particularly important for commercial and promotional translations. We ensure that a Korean translation will read as well or even better than the source document by carefully assigning the most appropriate translator for the project. Fluency in the latest cultural and business terminology for your target audience is essential. Our Korean translators hold current membership of organizations associations such as AUSIT. For translations requiring certification within Australia, we utilize translators credentialed by NAATI. Furthermore, all of our Korean translations undergo proofreading to ensure accuracy.

Korean to English and English to Korean typesetting considerations

When translating from one language to another, the volume of text will either increase or decrease. This expansion and contraction will vary depending on subject matter. English to Korean translation often results in a 10-15% contraction in text. Accordingly, Korean to English translation will increase the volume of text by approximately 10-15%. This is, of course, a general rule, but should be factored in when preparing copy which will be typeset following translation. There are no other significant typesetting considerations to be made when preparing copy for translation from Korean to English or English to Korean.
