Arabic translation service

We translate over 80 language combination, including Arabic to English and English to Arabic. In fact, English to Arabic translations are among our top 14 requested language services. Our Arabic translation service is engaged by Government agencies, businesses and individuals across Australia and worldwide.

Arabic is spoken by an estimated 230 million people around the world and is the first language of the Middle Eastern countries and many African nations. There are approximately 30 variations of Arabic dialect with the Egyptian dialect being the most widely spoken. Written Arabic comprises of Modern Standard Arabic and Classical Arabic. Classical Arabic is the language of the Qu’ran and classical literature. Although the Qu’ran is written and recited in Classical Arabic, many Muslims rely on translation into Modern Standard Arabic in order to understand its meaning. Modern Standard Arabic is understood by all Arabic speakers and as such is used for education and mass communication e.g. newspapers and television. The majority of our Arabic translations are conducted in Modern Standard Arabic.

We have at your disposal a team of highly qualified, experienced and specialised Arabic translators. We offer a comprehensive Arabic translation service covering a variety of specialist fields including scientific, technical, legal, commercial/promotional, etc. We also offer typesetting and printing services for brochures, Power Point Presentations and other professionally produced materials.

Our Arabic translators are located both in Australia and overseas. We assign projects to Arabic translators according to key factors such as accreditation, area of expertise and the translator’s country of residence, which is particularly important for commercial/promotional translations. We ensure that the Arabic translation will read as well or even better than the source document by carefully assigning the most appropriate translator for the project; fluency in the latest cultural and business terminology for your target audience is essential. Our Arabic translators hold current membership of organizations associations such as AUSIT. For translations requiring certification within Australia, we utilize translators credentialed by NAATI. Furthermore, all of our Arabic translations undergo proofreading to ensure accuracy.

Arabic to English and English to Arabic typesetting considerations

When translating from one language to another, the volume of text will either increase or decrease. This expansion and contraction will vary depending upon subject matter. English to Arabic translation often results in a 20% increase in text. Accordingly, Arabic to English translation will decrease the amount of text by 25%. This is a general rule, but should be factored in when preparing copy that is to be typeset following translation. A more significant consideration when typesetting an English to Arabic translation is that Arabic copy flows from right to left. This can result in a myriad of problems for a non Arabic-speaking typesetter. The typesetting of Arabic requires experience, dedicated Arabic versions of design software and an Arabic-speaking typesetter. Additionally, page layout of artwork such as paneled brochures will need to reversed, for example, the English version of a brochure’s pages will be numbered 1,2,3, whereas the pages of the Arabic version will be ordered 3,2,1. There are no other significant typesetting considerations to be made when preparing copy for translation from Arabic to English or English to Arabic.
