When providing a translated passport for the purpose of applying for an Australian passport, the translation of the passport must have been completed by a translator accredited by NAATI at professional level. For the purpose of passport applications, Australia Post will only accept the hardcopy version of the translated passport. The translation must include translator certification, the translator's stamp and signature.
AMLS Passport translations:

Passport translation process:
- You will need to scan and email a copy of your passport.
- Once this is received, the translation will be conducted by a NAATI accredited translator into English.
- Following completion of the translation an electronic copy of the translated passport will be emailed to you.
- The hardcopy version of the translated passport will then be mailed out to you in the post. The translation will include the translator's NAATI stamp, certification and signature.
